M and I celebrated it as Pi Day. We made quiche for lunch and an apple pie in the afternoon.
Quiche isn't exactly pie, but it turned out really well. Just simple: crust, a little bit of onion, cubed ham, shredded 'italian' mix cheese, eggs, cream.. It had a lot of flavor.
Is it me, or do all quiches take nearly twice as long to bake than the directions specify?!

Anyways.. the apple pi(e) was a cinch, we used canned apples, but I added spices.. cinnamon and nutmeg. The slits were really cute, but didn't turn out so well once it baked. Oh well. It was delicious and perfect with vanilla ice cream.
